Historical storage usage and datastore I/O performance are critical to ensure enough capacity and stable performance.

Storage Usage​

This section contains two line charts tracking storage consumption over time.

  • Root Filesystem Usage – Historical usage of the / partition.
  • Datastore Usage – Historical capacity usage of the datastore.

Datastore I/O Performance​

Datastore performance is measured with multiple metrics:

  • Snapshots – Total number of snapshots in the datastore

  • Fragmentation – Historical datastore fragmentation percentage
    Fragmentation

  • Operations per Second – Datastore I/O operation throughput

  • Bandwidth (KB/s) – Data transfer rate
    Bandwidth

  • Total Wait Time (ns) – Global I/O wait latency

  • Disk Wait (ns) – Disk-level wait latency

  • Sync Queue Wait (ns) – Waiting time in synchronous queue

  • Async Queue Wait (ns) – Waiting time in asynchronous queue
